MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s cross country finished sixth in the eight team Florida Tech Invitational, Saturday morning. The Lions top finisher, once again was Javier Beuzeville (Tampa, Fla.). The sophomore finished with a time of 26:06.00, less than 45 seconds behind the first place finisher from Embry-Riddle.
The Lions totaled 182 points for the day, finishing just fifteen points off a fifth place showing. Freshman Mike Berry also ran a strong race finishing with a time of 28:52.00 and 35th place finish. Soon after, Matt Attal (Tampa, Fla.) and freshman Carson Holton (Tampa, Fla.) crossed the line. Attal paced himself with a time of 29:35.00 and Holton nearly broke the 30-minute mark 30:28.00.
The Lions head to Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the University of Florida Invitational. The gun is scheduled to go off at 8:45 a.m.
