Rampf, Reiber honored by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La, - The Saint Leo women's cross country team earned more post-season honors as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announce Region Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2016 NCAA Division II Cross Country season, as voted on by the Division's coaches.

Junior Colett Rampf was named the South Region Athlete of the Year following her South Region individual title last week, which she won with a time of 21:54.6. She also won the Sunshine State Conference title earlier in the postseason.

This marks the second-straight year the junior from Premnitz, Germany, has been named South Region Athlete of the Year.

Head Coach Kent Reiber was honored by the USTFCCCA for the second-straight season as well. However, this year, he was named South Region Coach of the Year on the women's side, while in 2015, he earned the honor on the men's.

Reiber, who is in his second season at the helm, guided his women to a runner-up finish in the South Region team standings with 95 points. Earlier this postseason, Saint Leo captured the Sunshine State Conference title.

The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held in two weeks, on Saturday, Nov. 19, at The Abbey Course. Both of Saint Leo's teams will be competing.
