SAINT LEO, Fla. – With the summer months coming to a close, Saint Leo University men's and women's cross country coach Melissa Miller-Mangen has announced her squad's 2013 regular season schedule.
In total, the Lions will compete in five regular season meets, just before they host the Sunshine State Conference Championships on October 26 at the Saint Leo Abbey Golf Course.
Both the men's and women's squads will kick off the season at the South Florida Invitational, which will be hosted by the University of South Florida on Sep. 6.
From there, the Lions will compete in the University of Florida's annual Mountain Dew Invitational (Sep. 14) in Gainesville, Fla.
One week later, the squads will head to South Bend, Ind. to race in the National Catholic Championships at the University of Notre Dame (Sep. 20).
Rounding out the regular season, the Lions will compete at the FLrunners.com Invitational in Titusville, Fla. (Sep. 27) before heading to Tallahassee, Fla. for the annual Florida State Invitational (Oct. 11).
At the end of October, Saint Leo will host the Sunshine State Conference Championship race at their home venue, the Saint Leo Abbey Golf Course. The race, to be held on October 26, will mark the first time that the Lions have hosted the conference championship race since 2007.
The NCAA South Region race at the University of Tampa (Nov.9) and the NCAA Championship race in Spokane, Wash. (Nov. 23) will conclude the Lions' season.
