Volleyball falls to #10 Palm Beach Atlantic, 3-1

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Saint Leo volleyball team was tripped up on Saturday afternoon by No. 10 Palm Beach Atlantic, 3-1; 25-23, 17-25, 25-17, 25-16, in the Lions final regular season match.

In the first set, the Sailfish snagged a slight advantage as they put down 17 kills on .282 hitting. The Lions put down 14 kills on .229. Britt Sederholm put down five kills in the opening set, while Jamee Townsend dished out three aces. PBA tallied 3.0 team blocks.

The Lions responded in the second set by putting down 18 kills on .552 hitting as a team. They also held PBA to just 12 kills. Sederholm added another five kills, while Victoria Omoregie added four of her own.

Over the third and fourth sets, the Sailfish were offensively dominating, putting down 13 and 14 kills on .324 and .313, respectively.

The Lions saw Sederholm finish with 15 kills while hitting .387 on the outside. She added six digs to her stat line. Omoregie added 12 kills, seven digs, and two blocks. Annabella Arcari finished with eight kills and four blocks.

Maddy Powell finished the match with 45 assists, 10 digs, three kills, and a block. Jamee Townsend tallied a match-high 17 digs and added a match-high three aces.

On Monday at 7:30 PM, the NCAA Volleyball Selection Show will be watched by the team at the Dade City, Fla., Beef O' Brady's. Fans are welcomed to join the team.
