Volleyball falls to Regis, 3-1

DENVER, Colo. – The Saint Leo volleyball team fell to Regis, 3-1; 25-16, 25-16, 18-25, 25-21, on Saturday afternoon in the Silver Bracket semifinal on the Colorado Premier Challenge.

The Lions were down 2-0 in the set count before they looked to make a rally in the third. The Lions jumped out to an early lead in the third set and use multiple serving runs to keep Regis at bay. However, Regis returned to form in the fourth and final set to take the match.

Saint Leo was led offensively by senior Hope Lemon who tallied a match-best 20 kills on a clip of .265. She added three digs and two blocks. Sophomore middle blocker Dallas Jasper tallied seven kills on a team-high hitting percentage of .462. Freshman setter Anna Garret dished out 40 assists, adding two aces and three digs.

Defensively, senior libero Jamee Townsend tallied a match-high 24 digs, while junior Jenya Kruglova added 13 digs and six kills. Senior Katie Adamson led the team with four blocks.

The Lions will face Colorado School of Mines in the Silver Bracket third-place game at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
