SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo volleyball team pushed their win-streak to three as they upended Nova Southeastern 3-1 (25-21, 24-26, 25-9, 25-17) in Sunshine State Conference action from the Marion Bowman Activities Center, Tuesday evening. With the win, the Lions improve to 11-10 and 4-5 in the SSC while Nova Southeastern is 1-8 in the SSC and 4-16 overall.
Aside from a second set that saw NSU rally to win in extra points, the Lions controlled the match from the first serve. The Lions hit .286 and successfully connected on 64 kills.
The familiar group of seniors including Danielle Bletso and Emily Calderon-Reyes led the Lions in victory with Reyes notching a game-high 15 kills, .333 attack average and 21 digs while Bletso added 12 kills and a .455 average.
One name that stood out was freshman Lauren Campbell, who notched 14 kills and 19 digs as she jumped to the top of the stats sheet as one of the Lions' top performers.
Nova Southeastern was led by Danielle Graham with 14 kills.
