Lions show solid times at California track meets

ASUZA, Calif. – Five Saint Leo men's and women's track athletes were in action on Thursday in events at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays and the Asuza Pacific University Bryan Clay Invitational.

In the men's 5000m run at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Anthony Deleva finished 19th with a time of 15:45.20 in his section.

Two Saint Leo women competed in the same section of the 5000m run at the BCI. Laura Tobin was the top Saint Leo runner with a time of 18:10.37, good enough for sixth place in the section. Alyssa Bayliff was 13th with a time of 18:21.13.

In Thursday competition at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays, Josh Sickinger placed 50th overall in the 3000m Steeplechase Open race with a time of 10:01.72. Senior Rafal Matuszczak ran in the 10,000m Open "A" race, and finished 27th with a time of 30:54.12. Matuszczak finished ahead of runners from Purdue, UCLA, Tulane, and Colorado State.
