Men's and Women's Tennis in top eight in NCAA South Region Rankings

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's and women's tennis teams both found themselves in the top eight in the NCAA South Region rankings that were released on Wednesday afternoon.

The Saint Leo men's squad rolled in at No. 5, trailing West Florida, Barry, Valdosta State, and Lynn, who claim the top four spots, respectively. The Lions are 10-3 on the season, and 5-1 in Sunshine State Conference play.

On the women's side, the Lions fell in at the No. 8 spot. Saint Leo is joined by SSC members, Barry (No. 1), Lynn (No. 2), Florida Southern (No. 5), and Rollins (No. 7). The Lions recent 5-4 win over Florida Southern should help them in the next release of the rankings.

Both the men's and the women's team will close out the regular season with a 10 a.m. match against Lynn at the Saint Leo Tennis Center on Friday, April 14. It will be Senior Day as the Lions will honor Oskar Nurmio, Marine Beugre-Guyot, Anastasia Wagner, and Katherine Zaatini.
