#9 Ratttlers top #4 Women's tennis, 7-2

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 4 Saint Leo women's tennis team was topped by the No. 9 St. Mary's Rattlers on Thursday morning, 7-2, in a battle of two top ten teams.

The Lions opened down 3-0 following doubles as the No. 9 Rattlers were able to get the early jump. The Flight No. 1 pair of Marine Beugre-Guyot and Maja Pindelska and the Flight No. 2 pair of Kristyna Jurkova and Madeleine Gauthier both fell by the close score of 8-6, but the Rattlers dominated Flight No. 3, taking it 8-0.

Saint Leo would score two points as Gauthier and Beugre-Guyot both won their singles matches.

Beugre-Guyot claimed No. 1 singles by a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Gauthier took her match, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 5 singles, but it was not enough to overcome the Lions' deficit
