#4 Women's tennis tops St. Thomas, 9-0

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 4 Saint Leo women's tennis team hosted NAIA foe St. Thomas on Friday afternoon, topping the Bobcats, 9-0.

Following a commanding 3-0 lead after doubles, the Lions jumped on the Bobcats.

 Saint Leo swept singles with the top-five flights giving up no more than one or two games total over two sets. Fabiola Cardenas led with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4, while Maja Pindelska and Marine Beugre-Guyot both won, 6-1, 6-0. Kristyna Jurkova and Madeleine Gauthier added 6-0, 6-1 wins.

Katherine Zaatini had a battle at No. 6, winning 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

In doubles, Marine Beugre-Guyot and Maja Pindelska teamed up at No. 1 to earn an impressive 8-1 victory.

The No. 3 pair of Katherine Zaatini and Fabiola Cardenas earned an 8-2 win, while Kristyna Jurkova and Madeleine Gauthier took No. 2 doubles, 8-3.

The Lions return to action on Sunday, Feb. 26 for a 1 p.m. match at No. 6 Barry.
