SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo University head tennis coach James Bryce has announced the mid-year addition of Swedish tennis standout Pauline Helgesson to his 2013 women's tennis roster.
Joining the nationally-ranked program fresh off its 2012 NCAA Tournament season, Helgesson is another signature addition that carries her fair share of accolades into the championship season. A winner of eight Swedish champion medals, the native of Jönköping, Sweden was ranked 14th as a high school junior and 35th during her senior year playing for Mats Persson.
"I am very excited about Pauline joining our tennis program this spring," Bryce said. "She will fit in great with the other girls on the team. In addition, Pauline will add a great deal of depth to our team this spring and compete well with the other girls on the roster. I look forward to working with her on and off the court."
The incoming freshman attended high school at Holavedsgymnasiet in her hometown. Additionally, Helgesson competed at Linkopings Tennis Club in Sweden.
