Kemkes Tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District Women’s At-Large

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Lions' sophomore standout Laura Kemkes, a member of the women's tennis program, added to her impressive resume as she was selected College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Capital One Academic All-District women's at-large First Team, it was announced on Friday.

Sporting a 3.75 grade-point-average, the Business Administration major put together an outstanding 2012 campaign as she amassed a 16-4 singles record playing at No.1 singles. In addition, the Berlin, Germany native was recently honored as All-Sunshine State Conference First Team Singles, All-SSC First Team Doubles, as well as a two time SSC Player of the Week twice.

In total, Kemkes posted 34 wins playing at top flight singles and doubles.  

All-America voting will begin on Tuesday, May 22.

The 2012 Capital One Academic All‐District ® Women's At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One became the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All‐America teams programs in 2011.
