Women’s Tennis Tripped-Up by No.1 Lynn, 7-2

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's tennis team (3-2, 0-2 SSC) dropped a 7-2 decision to the No.1-ranked Lynn University Fighting Knights in Sunshine State Conference action, Saturday afternoon from the Perper Tennis Complex.

The top-ranked Fighting Knights took two-of-three on the doubles side, before taking five-of-six in singles.

The Lions earned their first point at No.3 doubles of Adrianna Daszkiewicz and Jeanette McDonald dumped Lynn's Andrea Berkova and Aleks Vukadinovic, 8-6.

Seeing close matches at two, three, and four singles, the Lions finally broke through at Nio.5 when freshman Maria Benkirane bounced Lynn's Kim Przeszlowski in consecutive sets, 6-0, 6-4.

The Lions will return to action on Sunday, February 19, when they travel to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. to take on Nova Southeastern in Sunshine State Conference action. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
