SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women’s tennis team again saw injuries and lineup changes force their hand as they fell 8-1 to visiting #15 Rollins College in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon from the SLU Tennis Facility.

The Lions’ only win of the day came in a great No. 1 matchup between Saint Leo’s Lina Benkirane and the Tars’ Holly Fleming with Benkirane outdueling her counterpart from Winter Park 6-3, 6-3.

Unfortunately, that was the only victory on the SLU side of the scoreboard as Rollins swept through No. 3 and 4 singles, and only allowed one point in No. 6 singles as the Tars finished singles competition up 5-1.

Rollins (2-0) also dominated doubles with the Saint Leo No. 2 tandem of Gina Schifano and Taylor Cleaves coming the closest with an 8-4 setback to the Rollins duo of Holly Fleming and Roshni Luthra.

The Lions (0-5) will now look to host Nova Southeastern on Saturday, February 21.  The first home Sunshine State Conference contest of the year is set to get underway at 11:00 a.m. at the SLU Tennis Facility on the Saint Leo campus.
