Weber named SSC Women’s Swimmer of the Week

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University senior Nicole Weber earned Sunshine State Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week honors on Monday, following her team-leading performances on Friday in a win over the University of Tampa.

This marks Weber's second SSC Swimmer of the Week award this season, and the 10th of her career.

Weber recorded three individual first-place finishes including NCAA "B" standard qualifying time in the 140-122 win over the Spartans, which also enabled Saint Leo women's swimming to finish its dual meet schedule undefeated.

Weber hit the NCAA "B" mark in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:17.82. She also won first place in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:05.65, and capped the day with a winning time of 2:09.22 in the 200 Individual Medley. She also swam the third leg for Saint Leo's winning team in the 200 Medley Relay, which posted a time of 1:49.02.

Altogether, Weber helped account for 38 of Saint Leo's 140 points in the dual meet win.

The Lions have just under three weeks to prepare for the 2017 Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships, which begin Thursday, Feb. 16, in Orlando, Fla.
