Weber named SSC Swimmer of the Week

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo women's swimming senior Nicole Weber was named the Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week following an impressive performance that helped the Lions win the double dual meet held last Friday afternoon at Lynn's McCusker Pool Complex.

Weber posted three individual first-place finishes and swam a leg of Saint Leo's first-place team in the 200 Medley Relay, and led the Lions to wins over Lynn (149 - 113) and Florida Tech (157 - 101) in a double-dual meet Friday in Boca Raton. Weber won the 200 Breaststroke with a NCAA "B" cut time of 2:17.73 and the 100 Breaststroke with a mark of 1:05.29 (just missing out on the "B" cut time by .38 seconds). The Konz, Germany native capped the meet with a first-place time of 2:09.09 in the 200 Individual Medley. Weber's 200 Breaststroke time is the fastest in Division II thus far this season, while her 200 IM time ranks fourth and the 100 Breaststroke time ranks fifth. Weber opened the meet by swimming the second leg for Saint Leo's 200 Medley Relay team, which won with a time of 1:46.27. That time is the fastest in all of Division II this year. All Weber's times are the fastest in the SSC so far this season.

This marks Weber's first honor this season, and the ninth of her career.

The Lions are back in the pool on Friday, Oct. 28, when they travel to Winter Park, Fla., to face Rollins College. Start time for the dual meet will be 3:00 p.m.
