Weber Sets Records En Route to SSC Swimmer of the Week
WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo sophomore Nicole Weber has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week presented by VALIC.
Weber collected four victories, two NCAA provisional times, broke two school records and one conference record in the Lions' 172-90 win over Rollins. The German-born swimmer set a school record with a winning time of 1:04.25 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Then Weber swam a school and conference record setting time of 2:15.60 to win the 200-yard breaststroke event. Both times were NCAA provisional times. Her 200-yard breaststroke time was .1 seconds away from an NCAA automatic qualifier.
Weber also finished first in the 200-yard IM (2:10.75), and led the 200-yard medley relay team to a first-place finish in a time of 1:54.34.
Weber and the rest of the Lions will have nearly a month to prepare for the Sunshine State Conference Championship which will kick off on Feb. 19 in Orlando at the YMCA Aquatic Center.
