SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University Head Swimming Coach Paul Mangen has announced Lynnette Hudnell as the Lions' second assistant coach. Hudnell will begin her duties immediately.
"I am very excited to have Lynnette on board with the Lions," said Mangen. "She has a wealth of knowledge as it pertains to aquatics life, and even more important, has the Midwest gumption to execute."
Hudnell comes to Saint Leo as the acting senior coach for the New Tampa YMCA, a USA Swimming Bronze Medal ranked program. She also gained valuable coaching experience as the assistant coach at the New Albany Country Club, as well as the Liberty Township Powell YMCA Penguins.
Hudnell, an Ohio native, will be responsible for breaststroke and IM training, as well as individual technique assessment.
A graduate of Ohio Northern University, Hudnell swam for the Polar Bears for four seasons.
"She has a skill set that will add to our success here as she has coached the various levels from the Ohio state meet finalist to the Olympic trials," Mangen continued. "Having another trained set of eyes will allow us to have a better coach to athlete ratio which is critical with multiple groups, genders, and large number of student athletes."
Hudnell resides in San Antonio, Fla. with her fiancé, Devin, and her dog, Lucy.
