Women’s Soccer Vaults 14 Spots to Highest Ranking in Program History

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - After defeating the then top-ranked Florida Tech Panthers last week, the Saint Leo women's soccer team earns their highest national ranking in program history, coming in at No. 6 on this week's NSCAA DII National Poll.

The Lions vault 14 spots to their sixth-place position after opening their 2011 campaign with an unblemished record of 8-0.

Two other Sunshine State Conference institutions earned a nod on this week's top-25, with Rollins coming in at No. 10, and Florida Tech descending from their previous No. 1 ranking all the way to 17th.

In South Region action, the Green and Gold hold onto the top spot, with six other SSC schools helping to round out the top teams in the region.

The Lions now prepare for two conference tilts this week, squaring off against Eckerd on Thursday, September 29, before closing out the week with a home contest against Lynn on Sunday, October 2.  To catch all of the action live, as well as find the latest news, updates, and information on the nationally-ranked Lions, visit SaintLeoLions.com.
