SAINT LEO, Fla. - After opening their season with a clean 6-0 record, the Saint Leo women's soccer team earns a nod at No. 20 on this week's NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II National Poll, announced Tuesday.
This marks the first time the Lions have entered into the national spotlight since November 12, 2008, when they came in at No. 25 on the final poll of the regular season.
Fellow Sunshine State Conference institutions Florida Tech and Rollins continue to ride the poll, with FIT earning a No. 1 slot this week, and Rollins falling just outside of the top-ten at No. 11 in the season's fifth poll. Nova Southeastern dropped out after earning the No. 21 slot last week, but received votes.
The Lions square off against current top team Florida Tech on Wednesday, September 21. Kickoff against the Panthers is set for 7 p.m. at University Field. For the latest news, updates, and information on the women's soccer team, visit SaintLeoLions.com.
