Soesemann Earns Season’s First Conference Player of the Week Accolade

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo senior F Pia Soesemann tallied 11 points in two matches to lead the Lions to a 2-0 record to start the season as she earned the Sunshine State Conference's Player of the Week for the first reporting period of 2011-12.

She kicked off the fall with a hat trick in a 6-1 victory over Catawba. Soesemann then scored two goals and assisted on another in a 4-3 win over West Georgia. With UWG striking quickly in the third minute, Soesemann tied the score with SLU's first goal near the seven-minute mark and then assisted on the game winner in the 72nd minute.
