BABSON PARK, Fla. - Despite the fact that the Saint Leo women's soccer team held a 1-0 advantage over the host Webber International University Warriors, Mother Nature would have the final say as a severe thunderstorm rolled into Babson Park and sent everyone running for cover.

NCAA rules state that a game played to 70 minutes can be considered complete, unfortunately for the Lions, the scoreboard showed that just 61 minutes had expired before the game was suspended.

For Saint Leo that means that the 1-0 score, the stats and the season opener all were washed out.  It erased a competitive game that saw newcomer Jasmine Johnson slot a ball into the right corner of the goal off a combination pass from Dari Alcantara and Malloree Enoch in the 58th minute.

The Lions now turn their attention to No. 2 West Florida as Saint Leo travels to Pensacola, Fla. to face the new-look Argonauts on Friday, September 4th.  Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
