SAINT LEO, Fla. –Saint Leo University women’s soccer teammates, Hannah Beard (forward) and Lauren Hudson (goal keeper) were named  College Sports Information Directors of America /ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District first and third teams, respectively, it was announced Thursday.

Junior Hannah Beard made the squad for the first time, posting a 3.52 grade point average. Beard has 16 goals and 12 assists for 44 points this year.

Beard is now eligible for All-America honors for being a first team pick.

Beard is majoring in sport business.

Hudson is having an outstanding season, posting a 13-3 record with 0.59 goals against average. She has posted 10 shutouts, just one shy of her record-setting 11 during the 2006 campaign. The criminal justice major posted a 3.47 grade point average and was a Second-Team CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine honoree in 2007.

Sports Information Directors nominate student-athletes from their respective schools for the honor. Nominees must have a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have played at least half of their of their team’s games. Nominees must also play one full season at the institution.
