Saint Leo, Fla. (September 2, 2008) – The Saint Leo University women’s soccer team (1-0) moved up in the latest NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches of America Association) poll, it was announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions posted one victory last week. The record setting 12-0 victory over Clearwater Christian College was the most goals the Lions have scored in a single game in program history. Hannah Beard (Jr., Liverpool, England) put four of those goals into the back of the net helping the Lions jump up to the No. 15 slot in the poll.
The Lions are joined by SSC rival University of Tampa, as they dropped from the No. one spot to the No. six position.
The Lions head to Pensacola, Fla. this Friday to take on No. 22 West Florida in regional action. Kickoff between the two squads is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. EST.
