Women's Lacrosse to Play 4 Seton Hill Thursday Night

SAINT LEO, Fla. - In the wake of the fatal bus accident involving the Seton Hill University women's lacrosse team that claimed the life of head coach Kristie Quigley and her unborn child on March 16, the Saint Leo women's lacrosse team will join many college, high school and youth programs in 'Playing 4 Seton Hill'.  The Lions will be collecting donations to benefit a scholarship fund set up for Quigley's young son, Gavin, at Thursday night's game against Shippensburg.

Seton Hill's women's lacrosse team was en route to Millersville University for an afternoon game Saturday when its bus, carrying 23 players and coaches, crashed into a tree Saturday morning on the Pennsylvania Turnpike outside Harrisburg.

Quigley, 30, of Greensburg, died of her injuries at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was about six months pregnant, and her unborn son didn't survive. The bus driver, Anthony Guaetta, 61, of Johnstown, died at the scene. Quigley, who was in her second season with the Griffins, is survived by her husband, Glenn, and young son, Gavin.

The Lions will honor Quigley, the Griffin women's lacrosse program, and those affected by the tragedy, by incorporating Seton Hill's colors - crimson and gold – into their uniform during Thursday evening's game.

Fans are encouraged to join the team in their support and wear crimson and gold to the game.

Ribbons will be available to all in attendance, and a donation jar will be set up at the ticket table.  In addition to any donations raised, proceeds from the ticket sales will also be donated to the scholarship fund.

Those who would like to make a contribution to the fund who cannot attend Thursday night's game, can donate directly to the Gavin Quigley scholarship fund here. The Play 4 Seton Hill cause can additionally be supported through both Facebook and Twitter (@Play4SHU).

Thursday's game will take place at University Turf Stadium. Game time between Saint Leo and Shippensburg is slated for 7 p.m.
