Jakobsson ties for seventh at Barry Women’s Invitational

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Saint Leo sophomore Amanda Jakobsson fired an even-par 72 to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place, in Tuesday's third and final round of the Barry Women's Invitational at the Shula Golf Club.

Jakobsson finished the round with a three-day total of 218, two strokes over par, to lead all Saint Leo individuals in the tournament. She was tied with Southwest Oklahoma State's Elin Wahlin and Florida Tech's Guro Rambjoer for seventh.

Junior Marie Coors fired a five-over 77 on Tuesday and finished tied for 19th, with a 54-hole score of 222 (+6). Sophomore Vilde Eriksen was right on Coors' heels with a 223 (+7) for the tournament, after capping her three days with a third-round score of 76.

Fellow junior Sabrina Rumbaugh carded a 79 in the third round for a two-day tally of 230 (+14), while senior Kellianne May completed the tournament with a 239 (+23) with a third-round score of 84.

Lynn University's Krissy Ortiz took medalist honors after carding three sub-par rounds. She shot rounds of 70, 69, and 71 to finish with a 54-hole score of 210 (-6). Ortiz was tied with Florida Tech's Felicia Leftinger who also had a six-under 210, but Ortiz won a three-hole playoff round against Leftinger.

Florida Tech took team honors at the Barry Women's Invitational, carding a two-over 866 and setting a new tournament record in the process. The previous low score was an 874 set in last year's event by Rolllins.

Barry finished second in the event with a 10-over 874, followed by Lynn in third place with an 882 (+18). Rollins (883, +19) and Nova Southeastern (887, +23) finished fourth and fifth respectively. Saint Leo was sixth on the team leaderboard with a three-day total of 892 (+28).
