Women's Golf turns in 36 holes at Lady Moc Classic

LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Saint Leo women's golf team played 36-holes of the 17th annual Lady Moc Classic on Monday at the par-72, 6,085 yard Grasslands Golf and Country Club in Lakeland, Fla. The Lions sit in 11th place heading into the final round of the 18 team tournament. 

Rollins College is in first place on the team leaderboard with a 3-over 147. Rollins' Madison Lellyo and Hally Leadbetter are tied with four others for first on the individual leaderboard, carding a 3-over 147 after two rounds. 

Sophomore Marie Coors leads the Lions with a two-round score of 155. The Gross-Zimmern, Germany native created excitement on the course thanks to a hole-in-one in the first round. Coors aced the 14th hole (Par 3, 147 yards). The shot marked first hole-in-one in the Lady Moc Classic at Grasslands, and the first ace in the tournament since 2008, when West Florida's Meaghan Gulliksen drained her tee shot at Cleveland Heights.

Coors carded a first round 78, followed by a second round 77. Her two-round score of 155 is tied for 30th place. Amanda Jakobsson opened the day with an even 72, but shot a second round 86, for a score of 158. Lauren Petty also shot a 158 on Monday (81, 77) and joins Jakobsson in a tie for 45th. Clare Connolly is tied for 50th with a 160 (77, 83) while Vilde Eriksen scored a 161 (81, 80). 

The final 18-hole round of the Lady Moc Classic shotgun start will commence Tuesday at 8:00 a.m.
