Eriksen paces women’s golf at Guy Harvey Invitational

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. –  Saint Leo University freshman Vilde Eriksen fired a two-over 74 for a two-day total to 152, to lead the women's golf team to an eighth place finish at the Nova Southeastern University Guy Harvey Invitational on Tuesday.

The Lions carded a 314 in Tuesday's round on the par 72, 6,163-yard Palmer Course at the PGA National Resort and Spa, and finished with a 623 for the tournament.

Eriksen was tied for 14th overall in the field and was the top Saint Leo finisher. Senior Clare Connolly matched Monday's 77 with another 77 on Tuesday, finishing the tournament with a 154 and tied for 21st. Senior Lauren Petty carded an 83 in her second round and was tied for 27th with a two-day total of 156.

Sophomore Marie Coors fired an 80 on Tuesday and a 161 for the tournament, good enough to be tied for 48th on the individual leaderboard. Junior Kellianne May completed the tournament with an 83 on Tuesday, a six-stroke improvement over her Monday round, and was tied for 84th on the leaderboard with a 172.

Lynn University won the 2014 Guy Harvey Invitational with a two-day total of 605. The host squad from Nova Southeastern was second with a 613, followed by Flagler College and Cal Baptist tied for third with two-day scores of 615.

Savannah College of Art & Design's Alazne Urizar was the individual medalist with a one-under 143 for the tournament. She fired a two-under 70 on Tuesday, and was one of only three golfers in the event to shoot a sub-par round on the Palmer Course.

Saint Leo women's golf gets to enjoy its home course for its next event when it hosts the Saint Leo Invitational on Monday, Oct. 20, and Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.
