Saint Leo in third after day one at Lander Lady Bearcat Invitational

BLUFFTON, S.C. -- Saint Leo University freshman Vilde Eriksen fired an even-par 72 and is in fourth place after the first 18 holes of the Lander University Lady Bearcat Invitational on Saturday.

Eriksen paced Saint Leo to a third place showing at the end of the first day of play on the par 72, 5,901-yard Old South Golf Links. The Lions finished the day with an eight-over 296, two strokes off the pace.

Flagler College and Savannah College of Art and Design are tied atop the team leaderboard after posting team scores of 294 on Saturday.

Armstrong State is three strokes behind the Lions in fourth place, while Limestone College and USC-Beaufort on tied for fifth with team rounds of 306. A total of 16 teams from 15 schools make up the field for the tournament.

Individually, Saint Leo senior Lauren Petty joined Eriksen among the top ten on Saturday, firing a two-over 74 to tie for seventh on the leaderboard.

Sophomore Marie Coors and junior Kellianne May each carded rounds of 75 and are tied for 16th in the standings, while senior Clare Connolly posted a round of 80 and is tied for 51st.

SCAD's Alazne Urizar shot a four-under 68 and leads the field, while Flagler's Stephanie Tucker and Bernadette Little turned in rounds of 71 and are tied for second.

Competition concludes on Sunday at the Old South Golf Links. The first pairings are off the tee at 8:30 a.m., while the final group with Eriksen tees off at 10:50 a.m.
