Marie Coors Earns Co-Medalist Honors at NCAA Regional; Lions Finish 6th

Coors finishes with back-to-back 71s to advance to NCAA Championships 

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University freshman women's golf standout Marie Coors shot a 71 for the second consecutive day and earned co-medalist honors at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf South/Southeast Super Regional on Tuesday, at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City. Coors recovered from a 76 in round one and shot back-to-back 71s in the second and third rounds, respectively for a three-round total of 218. 

Coors now advances to the NCAA Division II National Championships at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, N.C., May 14-17. Advancing with Coors, as individual participants, is Daisy-May Kenny of West Florida and Johanna Larsson of Florida Tech. 

As a team, the Lions finish the season with a sixth place finish after shooting a three round total of 926 (319-301-306). 

Clare Connolly, who finished in a tie for 20th, posted her best round of the regionals with third round score of 73. She finished the event with a three day score of 230 (80-77-73). 

Lauren Shuford finished six strokes behind Connolly, and in a tie for 34th, with a three round total of 236 (81-74-81). 

Lauren Petty shot an 84 on day three, and finished with a three round total of 245 (82-79-84). She finished the regionals in 47th place. 

Rounding out the Lions' participants is Heather Petronis who finished in 49th with a three round total of 260 (88-91-81).
