No. 6 Lions Conclude World Golf Invite with Second Place Finish
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The sixth-ranked Saint Leo University women's golf team improved their team total by four strokes to conclude day two of the second annual World Golf Invitational with a second place total of 310-306—616 at the Par 72, 6010 yard Slammer and Squire Golf Course, Monday afternoon.
The Lions finished behind top-ranked Lynn University, who pulled in a first place total of 294-297—591 after two days of action. West Georgia earned a third place total of 314-311—625, while host team Flagler finished in fourth after shooting a two day total of 319-312—631.
Clare Connolly led the Green and Gold throughout the Invite, finishing with a team best 77-72—149, finishing in a three-way tie for fourth individually. Lauren Petty finished in a three-way tie for seventh after shooting a two day total of 72-79—151.
Marie Coors bounced back after an opening round of 82 to shoot a two-over 74, good for a for a three-way tie for 18th place.
The Saint Leo women's golf team returns to action on Monday, February 17, when they participate in the Lady Moccasin Classic hosted by Florida Southern at the Grasslands Golf and Country Club in Lakeland, Fla.
