No. 3 Women’s Golf Dominates Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – In their second fall tournament of the 2013-14 year, the Lions took home their second tournament victory from the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. After finishing the second round with a score of 319, the Lions' team score of 609 propelled them to a tournament win.

Senior Lauren Shuford and junior Lauren Petty combined for a second round score of 155 and finished in a three-way tie for second place. Their finishes put them just six strokes over par for the weekend.

Just behind Shuford and Petty, freshman Marie Coors finished in sixth place with a second round score of 82. Her first round score of two-under par earned her a final score of 152.

Junior Clare Connolly and senior Heather Petronis round out the group with 17th place and 57th place finishes, respectively.

The second place program, Limestone College, finished 11 strokes behind the Lions for the tournament.

The Saint Leo women's golf program will return to action on Monday, October 21st when they host the annual Saint Leo Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.
