Women's Golf  Improves to Golf World Ranking of 14th

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Golf World/NGCA Division II College Women's Preseason Coaches' Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I and III, will appear in the September 30, 2013 issue of Golf World and are live now here

Defending NCAA champion Lynn University maintained its No. 1 ranking in the latest Golf World/WGCA women's Division II coaches' poll, earning 17 of the 25 available first-place votes. The Fighting Knights finished second in their season opener, the Lady Falcon Invitational.

Nova Southeastern, with four first-place votes, claimed the No. 2 spot while Barry rose to No. 3, receiving two first-place votes of its own.

Rollins and St. Edward's, which got the remaining two first-place votes, rounded out the top five, of which four Sunshine State Conference schools are present.

Led by new women's golf coach Tommy Baker, the Lions squad improved from a 20th-place ranking amongst the nation's top Division II programs to land in the 14th spot this week.

After taking home a first-place finish at the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate Invitational, the Saint Leo women's golf team has their sights set on their next tournament, the Myrtle Beach Invitational Tournament on October 7-8 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
