SAINT LEO, Fla.—The Saint Leo women's golf team, who entered round two of the Sunshine State Conference Championship in sixth place, fell one spot to number seven after 18 holes today. The Lions posted a team score of 347—putting their team total for the tournament at 663.
Saint Leo struggled across the board in today's second round, but was led by Lauren Shuford who carded an 80. Shuford's pair of 80's from the first two rounds put her tournament total at 80-80—160. Also totaling 160 after 36 holes is Clare Connolly—who shot an 82 in today's round.
Lauren Petty was next in line with an 87—which is certainly a number she can shave down tremendously in tomorrow's final round. For the tournament Petty is at 76-87—163. Heather Petronis and Alyssa Barrett rounded out the group, scoring 98 and 99 respectively in round two.
There was a quite a bit of movement on the scoreboard after the completion of round two, with Florida Southern taking over atop the leaderboard and Nova Southeastern dropping to fourth.
Saint Leo will look to regroup going into tomorrow round and post some low scored to round out the championship.
