Women's Golf Finishes 10th at Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational
WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. –The Saint Leo women's golf team wrapped up the final round of the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational on Tuesday in 10th place with a score of 336-320-336—992.
Keeping her strong tournament performance going was Lauren Petty who finished tied for 10th place individually on the leaderboard. Petty fired a 77 in the final 18 holes to finish with a tournament total of 229. Petty led the team with eight birdies for the tournament.
Clare Connolly was next in line with a 79 in the final round to finish with an 80-79-79—238. Seven strokes behind her was Lauren Shuford—with an 83 in the final round for a total of 245. Heather Petronis rounded out the Lions with a 100 in the final round to finish the tournament with 283. As a team, the Lions holed 16 birdies and 101 pars for the tournament.
Saint Leo finished 10 strokes behind ninth place Carson Newman who shot a 327-332-323—982 for the tournament. Nova Southeastern finished atop the team leaderboard with an impressive score of 295-295-296—856.
The Lions get back in action on March 17 when they head to Williamsburg, Va. for the C&F Bank Invitational.
