WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Saint Leo women's golf team recorded a day one total of 24-over 308 to finish the first round in third place at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate Tournament, hosted by William & Mary at the 6,097 yard, Par 71 River Course at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
The Lions are competing against some tough teams as they square off against Boston College, Central Connecticut State, Delaware, Fairfield, Hampton, High Point, Hofstra, Lehigh, Longwood, Monmouth, Mt. St. Mary's, Penn, Quinnipiac, Radford, Sacred Heart, St. Francis (Pa.), St. John's, Toledo, Towson, and host W&M. After the opening round, Longwood holds onto the top team spot with a 16-over 300, and St. John's finished second with a 23-over 307. Toledo is one stroke behind Saint Leo with a 25-over 309.
Leading the Green and Gold is Clare Connolly, who carded a four-over 75 and sits in a six-way tie for sixth in the individual standings.
Goeun Lee rounded out the group with a 12-over 83, good for 57th overall, and will look to rebound on day two.
Holding onto the lead in the individual standings is Longwood's Kameron Carter, who fired an even-71 on the day.
