No.8 Women's Golf Conclude Peggy Kirk Bell Invite in Seventh

Olafsdottir Leads Lions Wire-to-Wire

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Backed by Ragna Olafsdottir's third round, seven-over 79, the No.8-ranked Saint Leo women's golf team advanced two spots to finish the 37TH annual Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational in seventh-place, firing a third round 34-over 322, Tuesday afternoon from the 6,089 par-72 course at Tuscawilla Country Club.

In total, the Lions concluded the tournament shooting a 91-over 955, and stood just 14 shots out of a top-five finish.

With windy conditions entering the picture, the Lions shot consistent scores throughout the afternoon. Olafsdottir continued her steady play as she was the one Lion to break 80 en route to a 17th-place finish at 20-over 236.

Clare Connelly saw a three shot improvement from the second round as she finished with a nine-over 81 and a two day total of 24-over 240.

Heather Petronis tied Connelly with an overall score of 24-over 240, while Goeun Lee rounded-out the quartet with a 27-over 243 after carding a 10-over 82 on Tuesday.

Lauren Huertas also improved her scores over the final two rounds as she wrapped-up the invitational with a 258.

The Lions return to action on Sunday, March 18, when travel to Williamsburg, Va. to compete in the C&F Invitational, hosted by the College of William and Mary.
