SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's golf team concluded the Lady Moc Invitational with an 11th-place finish on Tuesday afternoon at the par-72, 6255-yard Eaglebrook Golf Course in Lakeland, Fla. Laura Huertas led the Lions with a 24th-place finish, after firing a nine-over 81 in the third and final round.
Seminole State took home the top team finish, concluding the two day event with a 49-over 913 after pulling in scores of 306, 307, and rebounding on the final day to fire a 12-over 300. Florida Southern finished two strokes behind Seminole State in second, while Nova Southeastern took home third with a 58-over 922 after three rounds (323-299-300—922). Seminole State's Elia Folch Sola led the individual leaderboard with a final score of three-over 219.
Huertas finished with a 20-over 236 (81-74-81—236). The Bogota, Columbia native finished in a five-way tie for 24th in the individual standings, and took home the top spot for the Lions.
Clare Connolly carded a 24-over 240, pulling in scores of six-over 78 in the opening round, 10-over 82 in round two, and eight-over 80 in the final round.
Ragna Olafsdottir finished one stroke behind Connolly, finishing the event a 25-over 241 (81-80-80—241). Sophomore Heather Petronis matched Olafsdottir's mark of 241 (77-84-80—241), good for a 41st place finish overall.
Tricia Maloney earned an 50th-place spot on the individual rankings, improving in each round to finish the event with an eight-over 80 on the final day for a final score of 29-over 245 (83-82-80—245).
Goeun Lee rounded out the squad, finishing with a 30-over 246 (78-82-86—246).
