SAINT LEO, Fla. – After its sixth place finish at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational last weekend, the Saint Leo women’s golf team can now say they are the highest-ranked group in program history as Golfstat released its latest rankings on Tuesday and the Lions are 12th in the nation.

The program-best ranking comes as the Lions’ top senior; Anna Riss is now ranked as the 12th-best player in all of Division II.  The German finds her name in the top-10 in nearly every statistical category that Golfstat tracks, including fairways hits, greens in regulation and total short game.

As a team, the Lions have finished in the top-six of all three tournaments they have competed in during the spring season, including back-to-back fifth place finishes to start the championship portion.

Getting nearly a month off, the Lions will return to competition on April 2nd as they compete in the Morehead State Invitational at the Juliett Falls Golf Club in Ocala, Fla.
