SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women’s golf team put together an impressive 18-hole showing as they stood in a tie for second place after round one, but the Lions slipped a bit in the second round as they dropped to fourth in the 13-team field.
The Lions’ two-round 310-321—631 was led by senior Anna Riss, who is currently tied for fourth with a 36-hole 76-77—153.
Sophomore Goeun Lee was a surprise in the lineup as she currently sits in second on the team and 13th overall with a two-round 74-83—157. Lee was actually in second-place after the first 18 holes, but slipped in the second trip around the course.
Junior Suzanna Ervin is just two strokes behind Lee with a 77-82—159 and Jordan Hatch carded an 83-79—162.
The Lions’ lineup was rounded out by Kristina Carvalho, whose 87-85—172 puts her in 41st heading into the final round.
Saint Leo trails national power Nova Southeastern as they managed a first-day 306-298—604. Rollins (311-304—615) and host Florida Southern (310-311—621) sit between the Lions and the top-spot heading into Tuesday’s final round.
The Lions will tee-off the final round of the tournament early Tuesday morning at the Eaglebrook Golf Club in Lakeland.
