SAINT LEO, Fla.– Saint Leo University Head Women’s Golf Coach Erika Danford announced today the signing of Jordan Hatch to a National Letter of Intent to begin play for the Lions in the fall of 2009.

Hatch is currently attending Rend Lake Community College in Ina, Ill. Deep into the spring portion of her sophomore campaign, she has accumulated several golf and academic honors. The South Beloit, Ill. native posted a career best 69 this past week at the McKendree Invitational where she finished first in a field of 87 players.

The 5’9” sophomore will lead the Warriors into the NJCAA Regional and National Tournament this spring where they are currently seventh in the nation.  In addition to her success on the golf course, Hatch holds a cumulative 3.5 GPA and will major in Sport Business once at Saint Leo.

“I am elated that Jordan has chosen Saint Leo to continue her education and playing career.  Equally talented in the classroom and on the course, she will have an immediate impact on our program,” said Danford.  “She has a wonderful spirit and passion for the game; a true representation of what it means to be a Lion.”

The 2008-2009 edition of the Saint Leo women’s golf team continues to rewrite the record book as they roll through their season.  On Sunday, the Lions will travel to Winter Haven, Fla. where they will compete in the 2009 Sunshine State Conference Championships.  Currently ranked 10th in the South Super-Region and 25th in the nation, the ladies take plenty of momentum into the tournament where they will look to make the post-season for the first time in program history.
