ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women’s golf team placed 11th after the final round of the Flagler Fall Slam played at the World Golf Village and hosted by Flagler College.  The Lions, who finished behind top-spot Barry University, shot a final round 335 for a tournament total 655.  Saint Leo was two strokes out of the top-10 and ten shots shy of sixth place.

On a day when the temperature never broke 50 degrees and the winds were howling through the course, the Lions struggled to match the opening round 320 with no SLU player being able to break 80 because of the adverse conditions.  The weather did not only affect the Lions as only one team in the 20 team field was able to beat their opening day score.

The Lions saw two players tie for best individual finish as Anna Riss and Tricia Maloney posted a two-round 162 for a 30th place finish.  Freshman Goeun Lee carded 164 and was in 37th, two strokes out of making it a three-way tie for 30th place with Riss and Maloney.

Kristin Carvalho (167) and Megan Costello (173) rounded out the Lions’ lineup in 47th and 60th place respectively.
