ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women’s golf team stands firmly in ninth place after Monday’s first round of the Flagler Fall Slam played at the World Golf Village and hosted by Flagler College.  The Lions, who were 27 strokes behind top-spot Lynn University, shot a first round 320, were two strokes off the program record and are just one shot shy of jumping into a tie for eighth place.

The Lions were led by Tricia Maloney’s first-round 77 as she shot a team-low 37 on the front nine and placed her tied for 20th overall.  Teammate Anna Riss was a stroke behind in 22nd with a 78.

Kristin Carvalho and Goeun Lee placed in 42nd and 45th respectively and Meghan Costello rounded out the Lions’ day in 72nd place.
