Ft. Myers, Fla. (October 1, 2006) - The Saint Leo women's golf team finished ninth at the Floirda Gulf Coact Eagle Invitational played Saturday at Sunday at Miromar Lakes Golf Club in Ft. Myers, Fla. The Lions shot a 36-hole team total of 697 (343-354).
For the second straight event, Saint Leo was led by Angela Sparagowski (So., Sylvania, Ohio) who was in 31st-place following a two-day total of 165 (81-84).
Florida Southern College won its second straight event, as the Mocs shot 600 (298-302). Daytona Beach Community College was second with SSC schools Lynn and Barry in third and fourth-place respectively. FGCU's Heather Hagerman and Florida Atlantic's P. Phol-uayporn shared medalist honors indivudally after each shot 1-under-par 143's with idential rounds of 72-71.
The Lions will return to play October 16-17 at the Nova Southeastern Fall Invitational at PGA National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla.
