SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo women's basketball senior Chelsy Springs was named First Team All-Sunshine State Conference on Wednesday afternoon, as voted on by the league coaches.

Springs averaged a league-best 16.2 points per game on the season, and for the second-straight year was the SSC scoring leader. She also finished the regular season third in field goal percentage at 45.5-percent, fourth in rebounds per game at 8.3, and fifth in blocks per game with 1.0.

On the season she tallied nine double-doubles, while also scoring double digits in 21 of the Lions' 26 games. Springs added nine 20-plus point performances and dropped a career-high 30 points against Rollins in the final regular season game.

Springs earned two SSC Player of the Week honors this season.

In 2016, Springs was the SSC Newcomer of the Year and earned a place on the Second Team All-SSC and the All-Newcomer team.

Over her two-year span at Saint Leo, Springs has scored 859 points on 48.2-percent shooting. She has added 420 rebounds, 69 assists, 61 steals, and 40 blocks.

The Lions enter the Sunshine State Conference Tournament as the No. 7 seed and will play on Wednesday, March 1, at No. 2 Florida Southern at 7 p.m.
