Manigrasso Tabbed to Daktronics All-South Region First Team

CLEVELAND, Miss. – Just one day after the Saint Leo women's basketball season came to a close, senior guard Teresa Manigrasso was selected to the 2013-14 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-South Region team. She is one of four Sunshine State Conference players to receive such an honor.

Competing in 29 games this year, Manigrasso averaged 33.4 minutes per game, earning 462 points on the year. Averaging 15.9 points per game, Manigrasso scored her 1,000th career point on February 1st in the Lions' loss to top-ranked Rollins College.

In addition to earning 92 rebounds and 89 assists on the year, Manigrasso notched a career-high 34 points in the Lions' Sunshine State Conference tournament victory over Lynn on March 5th. She also earned a career-high 8 assists in the squad's conference victory over Lynn on February 22nd, and led the Sunshine State Conference in free-throw percentage with an 85.4 average.

The senior captain played a major role in leading her team to its best season in program history, as the Lions made history with their first-ever selection to an NCAA Regional tournament. The Saint Leo squad also recorded program-highs in overall wins, conference wins, and win percentage with their final 20-10 record.

Despite falling in the NCAA South Region Quarterfinals to Rollins, Manigrasso's efforts this season have contributed to Saint Leo history.Throughout the season, Manigrasso has received numerous awards, including a selection to the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team and the CoSIDA Academic All-District team. On December 9th, she was also tabbed the Sunshine State Conference player of the week for outstanding performances over Flagler and top-ranked Rollins.

The 2013-14 Daktronics Women's Basketball All-America Team will be announced on March 24. The all-region first team members from each of the eight regions are placed on the national ballot with the Division II SIDs selecting a first, second and third team All-America honorees.
