WINTER PARK, Fla.– Women's basketball senior Teresa Manigrasso has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced Monday afternoon from the conference office.
Manigrasso, a native of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., scored a game-high in points in back-to-back games for the Lions to lead them to a 2-0 week, including a 66-57 road victory over No. 16 Rollins in their SSC opener.
Against the Tars, the senior guard scored a game-high 16 points, while also recording a game-high three assists and four steals. Manigrasso was perfect from the charity stripe going 8-for-8, including a 4-for-4 effort in the final minute of play. The win marked head coach Nikki Jessee's 100th career win.
Earlier in the week, she recorded a game-high 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds, all defensive, in a 75-62 win over Flagler. Manigrasso was 6-for-7 from the free-throw line in the victory.
With the two wins, the Saint Leo squad remains undefeated at 9-0.
Manigrasso and her team will return to play on Friday, December 20 when the Lions travel to Anchorage, Alaska to compete in the AT&T Hoops Classic. Saint Leo is set to play Brevard College at 5:00 p.m.
