SAINT LEO, Fla.—The Saint Leo women's basketball team (10-11, 5-6 SSC) fell to Barry University on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 66-58 from The Bowman Center. Keishara Green notched a new career high in scoring with 14 points.
Green also grabbed 11 rebounds on the night to mark her second consecutive double-double. Kinnara Lewis tallied 15 points in the Lions' effort while Teresa Manigrasso dropped in 10. Chelsea Connelly collected nine rebounds on the afternoon while scoring seven points.
The Lions took a 32-38 lead into halftime after shooting 42 percent from the field during the first half. Kinnara Lewis dropped in nine of her 15 points in the first half—going 3-of-4 from behind the arc.
In the second half the Lions had a difficult time making baskets—shooting just 29 percent from the field and converting on just two three-point attempts.
The Lions had an eight-point advantage in the paint, outscoring the Bucs 22-14 in the key.
In a game that featured four ties and eight lead changes, the Lions struggled down the stretch and failed to make shots when they needed them most.
Eule Colette led Barry with a game-high 17 points on the afternoon. Colette was 5-13 from the field and went 6-7 from the charity stripe.
The Lions get back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Lakeland to take on Florida Southern. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
