SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo University head women's basketball coach Nikki Jessee has announced the signing of Teresa Manigrasso to a National Letter of Intent as she will join the Lions' women's basketball program in the fall of 2012.
"Teresa brings versatility to our program because she is able to play multiple positions," said Jessee. She is a deadly three-point shooter, who is able to also score off the dribble. Besides being a great shooter, she has a big motor and is an extremely hard worker. We are excited to have her and we look for her to make a big impact on our program."
Manigrasso, a 5'8" guard, joins the Lions as a transfer from St. Peters College in New Jersey. While at St. Peters, the Criminal Justice major was a major contributor as she finished her freshman campaign second on the team in scoring (7.5 ppg), steals (45) and assists (42), while starting each of the team's 31 games.
Prior to her time at St. Peters College, Managrasso spent four successful seasons at St. John Vianny High School under the tutelage of Dawn Karpell. Her most notable accomplishment came as she guided her squad to three state championships. In addition, the Atlantic Highlands, NJ native directed her team to the New Jersey 'Tournament of Champions' top spot. Her efforts on the court guided the team to a seventh-place national ranking.
The Lions will open the 2012-13 regular season on Friday, November 9 as they take on Virginia Intermont at the 2012 University of Tampa Classic.
