LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Saint Leo volleyball team continued its climb up the AVCA Division II Coaches Top-25 ladder Monday, as they jumped one spot from 13th to 12th in the national poll.

The Lions, who proved their ability to win the blowouts, also proved they could come out victorious in the close matches. They started their tough weekend off with a hard-fought, five-set win over Barry. The ladies, however, righted the ship and followed that performance up with 3-0 sweep of the Lynn Fighting Knights.

Concordia-St. Paul remains as the nation’s top-ranked team, garnering all first place votes. However, Central Missouri slipped from the top-five, while West Texas A&M slid into the No. 5 position.

Joining the Lions in the top-25 is the University of Tampa, who fell one spot to eighth and is the only other ranked opponent in the Sunshine State Conference.

The Lions head into their most pivotal match of the season, as they take their perfect 12-0 conference record into a huge SSC and in-region showdown with SSC foe Tampa.  First serve for the event is currently scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from the Bowman Center.
